I took my mother on a fun trip to New York last week. We had so much fun. I felt like I was dragging her here, there and everywhere! She had fun too. We finished the week with the musical “Memphis” Saturday night. I highly recommend it! It was so entertaining.. and the music was phenomenal!

I know it’s tough to be right on the money. Especially in today’s times when for some of us.. there’s just not enough of it! You know you have been there before… in this situation. Hopefully this helps!
This is from the Real Simple September issue.
DILEMMA: If I get bad service at a restaurant, should I still tip?
VERDICT: Based on a standard tip of 15 to 20 percent for average to excellent serice, tip perhaps 12 percent, advises Jodi R. R. Smith, author of From Clueless to Class Act: Manners for the Modern Woman. If you don’t tip and therby deprive your server of a culturally agree-on supplement to skimpy wates, “you’re breaking a societal norm and acting in an uncivil manner,” says Smith, who adds, “Two rudes don’t make a right.” Express your dissaitisfaction by speaking to the manager. But keep in mind that the waitress can’t cook your meal for you, so don’t punish her if the poor service was the kitchen’s fault.
DILEMMA: There are tip jars everywhere now. Do you have to tip everyone?
VERDICT: “Tip-jar gratuities are for those who go above and beyond,” says Smith. If the scooper at the ice cream parlor throws extra jimmies on your little League teams’ cones, tip him. Skip the tip for the girl who hands you a doughnut; it’s in her job description.
DILEMMA: Do I need to tip for takeout or something that came with free delivery?
VERDICT: A delivery person typically gets all the tip, while a delivery charge goes to the restaurant. If you’re picking up takeout, tipping isn’t necessary. Tip a deliveryman about 10 percent of the bill, Smith says. Also, factor in the weather, the time he took to deliver the food and whether it’s still hot, and how often you order from the establishment.

I must say, West Coast Workout is the bomb!
I was the Road Warrior last Monday on Good Day Atlanta. It was tons of fun! It’s very cool getting paid to workout. Especially with this group! Way to go girls! Thanks for letting me put you on TV! You were smokin’ hot!

Just when I thought a bride couldn’t get any prettier… here comes Denna!
Denna Jumper and Jon Babel exchanged vows last weekend at a small church in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. It was probably one of the sweetest ceremonies I have ever attended. It was all from the heart.
After reading their own vows (which were very touching) they proceeded with “a little something extra” each had written for one another. That’s when the tears started.
Jon went first. He told Denna how much he loves her, adores her and will always support her. Keep in mind… Jon is 6′8″, very handsome and is 7 years younger than his blushing bride. (Way to go Denna!) It was very sweet to hear this man confess his love for this woman in front of all of his and family and friends.
Denna thanked Jon for so many things. Mostly, for loving her. But it’s the little things, she said, that have always meant so much. Like the way he always notices her shoes and how he never gets upset when she decides she wants to dance on a table. If you know Denna, you know what this means!
The reception was simply gorgeous. Bright and colorful… decorated with Denna’s favorite colors of signature pink and orange. A big tent with just the perfect amount of lighting housed the hundreds of guests. In true Southern fashion, a low country meal of Fried chicken, tasty BBQ and Shrimp and Grits was served. Yummy!
Ok… so it was August in the South… it was a little hot… but that didn’t stop any of us from dancing (and sweating) the night away!
This relationship has been 8 years in the making. May God bless this couple with many, many more years together and a life time of happiness.
Please feel free to leave any comments! I’m sure Denna would love to see them… especially while on their honeymoon in Maui!
Love you D!

I got to interview Kara DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and Mary J. Blige Today. I have to say.. Mary J looks great! She brought her 2 cute kids with her. Kara is just a cool chick… and Randy is a super nice guy! A long day but it was fun.
Of course, I would love it if an American Idol winner came out of Atlanta. We followed a couple of contestants. A few of them are making it to Hollywood, but I can’t say who until after the show airs in January… so … stay tuned!
Here’s a look at today’s story.

I met one of the most interesting ladies this weekend. I first met her on our morning show.. Good Day Atlanta. I helped book her on the show. My husband once worked with her now manager. They were coming to Atlanta and it seemed like a nice fit. It actually worked out well. Since I wanted to meet her and see hubby’s former boss… I went in early Friday to greet her.
To put it simply, she is just such a nice lady. Very down to earth. She’ll pretty much say anything. I guess that’s what radio people can do! But here’s what I find so fascinating this woman. Delilah has dedicated her life to her family. Her extraordinary family.. I should say. She showed me photos of her beautiful farm home near Seattle. Nothing like the farm homes I grew up around in Kentucky! That’s for sure! Anyway, she lives there with her 10 children! Yes! 10 kids! Ok.. I think a couple are old enough now to move out. Three of her children are biological… 7 are adopted. Isnt’ that amazing? I certainly think so! It is so obvious how proud of all of them she is. Apparently, she visits Africa a couple of times a year. That’s where a couple of them are from.
The event was being held Saturday at Soma Intimates at Perimeter mall. With every purchase at Soma that day, Delilah was giving away one of her autographed books. I got one on for my mother… as well as a signed photo and of course more pictures with her. Oh.. by the way girls… Soma has incredible bras! I bought 3 and love them all!
My mom is so excited because she LOVES Delilah.. and now I do too!
What a fascinating lady.
